Question 1

How often should I service my AC in Alabama?

Accepted Answer

Have your AC professionally serviced at least once a year, ideally before the hot season. Annual maintenance catches worn parts early, keeps efficiency up, and helps prevent costly breakdowns during Central Alabama's long cooling season.

Question 2

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

Accepted Answer

It usually points to low refrigerant, a dirty coil, or an airflow problem like a clogged filter. These issues rarely fix themselves and tend to get worse the longer they run, so a technician should diagnose the exact cause.

Question 3

How long does a central air system last in the Alabama heat?

Accepted Answer

Most central air systems last about 10 to 15 years, though heavy summer use can shorten that. If yours is older, struggling to keep up, or needing frequent repairs, it may be time to weigh replacement.

Question 4

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the system's age, the cost of the repair, and how often it's breaking down. A good rule: if a major repair approaches half the cost of a new system or your unit is past its useful life, replacement is usually the better value. Call for an honest quote.

Question 5

Do you clean air ducts and vents?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we clean ducts and vents to remove dust, debris, and buildup that restrict airflow. Cleaning helps your system breathe easier, can improve indoor air quality, and is often paired with a maintenance visit.

Question 6

What areas around Prattville do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Prattville and serve the surrounding River Region, including Montgomery, Millbrook, Wetumpka, Pike Road, Deatsville, and many nearby towns. If you're unsure whether we cover your address, call us and we'll let you know.

Question 7

How much does HVAC repair cost in Prattville?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what's wrong. A small fix like a capacitor or thermostat costs far less than a compressor or coil replacement. We diagnose the problem first and give you a clear price before any work starts, so you're never surprised.

Question 8

What temperature should I set my thermostat in an Alabama summer?

Accepted Answer

Around 76 to 78°F while you're home is a good balance of comfort and cost. Setting it much lower makes the system run nonstop, which raises your bill and wears it out faster. A smart thermostat can raise it while you're away and cool the house before you get back.

Question 9

How often should I change my air filter?

Accepted Answer

Every 1 to 3 months for most homes, and closer to monthly in summer or if you have pets. A clogged filter is one of the most common causes of poor cooling, frozen coils, and high bills.

Question 10

Why is my house so humid even with the AC running?

Accepted Answer

Usually the system is oversized, short-cycling, or low on refrigerant. An AC removes humidity by running long, steady cycles. If it shuts off too quickly, the air stays damp. We can check sizing, airflow, and refrigerant to find the cause.

Question 11

Is it normal for my heat pump to blow cool air in winter?

Accepted Answer

Somewhat. Heat pump air feels cooler than furnace air, and it briefly blows cool air during defrost cycles. But if the house isn't reaching the temperature you set, or it blows cold for long stretches, call for a check.

Question 12

Do you work on all brands of HVAC equipment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we service and repair all major brands of heating and air conditioning equipment, including heat pumps, furnaces, central air systems, and package units.

Question 13

How long does a new AC installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most straightforward replacements take about a day. Jobs that need new ductwork or major changes can take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline before we start.
